Indeed most numbers between 1 and 2 will have two parts of the body approximating them in ratio. If you look hard enough you will also find proportions in the human body close to 1.6, 5/3, 3/2, the square root of 2, 42/26, etc, etc. This is especially true if the things that you are measuring are not particularly well-defined (as in the picture on the left) and it is possible to vary the definition in such a way as to get the proportions that you want to find. If you consider enough of them then you are bound to get numbers close to the value of the golden ratio (around 1.618). The body has many possible ratios, lots of which lie somewhere between 1 and 2.
